I like your idea of comparing eating ice cream every day with writing, but it got me thinking...we can, in fact, eat too much of it to the point it’s gonna be sickening for us to even look at it. I guess the same might apply to writing or any creative pursuit...do it, but watch your motivation and don‘t overwork :)
All words I needed to hear today to rev up my engines to write, Tom! Thank you for your great words of inspiration! I get to write today like I'm eating my favorite ice cream flavor chocolate peanut butter!!
I love the ice cream metaphor. It comes in literally dozens of flavors. So you’re implying the benefits of variety in your topics. Which I know you’ve mentioned before. I’m in the process of rebooting my website, having finally found a primary topic I enjoy writing on and can easily write on (spiritual memoir). I also have a second, related topic (family memories). I have no clue what the other 3 topics should be but I’m willing to trust they will reveal themselves as I experiment and look for the intersection of my interests and that of my audience. Thanks for the timely reminder!

What’s your favourite ice cream flavour. I have discovered salted caramel. 😀
