A few weeks ago I was listening to a podcast and this tech bro basically said if you don't learn how to utilize AI right now, you will be left behind. That really resonated with me.
I thought of the typewriter, the printing press, and the internet--I wondered how many creatives dragged their feet or thought of these inventions as "lazy" and missed their opportunity.
Using AI as a tool is 100% the correct way of looking at it and it’s made me more efficient. I'm not having it write for me. It helps me with brainstorming and spring-boarding ideas.
Alberto, NoteSmith doesn’t do this? That’s why I get it to rewrite the note at the very end every time ;) You can always compare both versions to see what changed, right?
I'd feel better about AI if it were actually "trained on all the smartest humans who have ever lived," and not a hodge podge of stolen art and writing, with no credit or payment to the original creators. But it's nice that you like it.
AI is my second draft. I write something and don’t even read it and have AI refine it before I work on it more
I use it this way as well. I love that approach.
Edit: I feel like an idiot because I though I was watching this live and commenting on real time LOL I came in at the end

That’s how I feel. As for what the tech bro said, that’s good ol loss aversion at its finest!!
I agree. AI is a TOOL. And it’s a sharp one. You can use it for ideas, transcribing, research and more. It’s up to us to use it correctly.
AI has definitely come a long way in the last couple of years.
That’s why I didn’t really think much of it at first, but man… what it can do now is insane.
i do appreciate your perspective of AI as a writer’s tool. Thank you. I’m inspired.
Another feature suggestion... 😉
I recently asked Claude to propose improvements on a draft.
Then I asked it, for every change, to show the old version, the new version and the reason for the change.
This allows you to choose which changes to keep.
But also to learn how to improve.

Yes. But I like to have the explicit reasons for every change. And I also use it for other writing, not just Notes.
